The DERC Islet Preparation Core enables clinical and basic research that analyzes the function of isolated pancreatic islets. Expert personnel perform the technically challenging isolation of islets from mice provided by investigators. The Core also coordinates and delivers purified human islets to investigators when research need matches the availability of a human pancreas. Please see the SERVICES tab for more details about any component of the DERC Islet Preparation Core.

The Islet Preparation Core lowers the cost barriers (see RATES tab) for DERC investigator research requiring isolated islets. To initiate an order, please complete and submit the form under the PLACE ORDER tab. FEEDBACK on available or missing services is always appreciated.

Purified human islets prepared by the Islet Preparation Core for transplantation into human patients. Research human islets are provided by the Core upon request and availability. Rodent islets are prepared regularly.
